I recently volunteered at Sci-Film London and part of the perks meant I was able to request tickets to see any of the films they were screening. I had my sights set on one in particular Strange Journey: The Story of Rocky Horror – the new documentary from son of Rocky creator and OG RiffRaff, Linus O’Brien. On the 50th anniversary of the Picture Show, I wanted to see what Linus’ access to the world of Rocky Horror would bring to the fans, how he would treat such a beloved piece of theatre and film history, and what exactly would his focus be.
In a mix of talking heads, archive footage, and musical performances, Linus manages to track the trajectory of Rocky Horror through the impact it had/has on its fans and the result is truly a spectacle to hold on to.
See what I made of it in this review for Filmotomy: Strange Journey: The Story of Rocky Horror (2025)
